Celebrating Hope will be held Friday in support of the Prudence Crandall Center’s services and efforts to end the impacts of domestic violence locally.

This year, a Southington couple is presenting a donation of $50,000 through the Andrew and Virginia Nowakowski Charitable Trust. The Nowakowskis have been long standing supporters of the Prudence Crandall Center, according to a press release by the Prudence Crandall Center.

About 230 people are expected to attend the event at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bristol.

According to the press release, this event is very significant to the agency, as it is meant to raise the money needed for a private non-profit emergency shelter. The resources will also be used to fund supportive housing, counseling, court advocacy, and prevention services.

The agency welcomes contributions from organizations, businesses and individuals. Donations can be made at prudencecrandall.org or by mail to Prudence Crandall Center at 594 Burritt St. Development Director Carolyn Jasper can be reached at 860-225-5187 ext. 218.
