Southington power outages reported as tree falls down

SOUTHINGTON - Fast-moving storms caused damage across parts of the state on Thursday afternoon, including the Plantsville section of Southington, WFSB reported.

A tree came toppling down onto a home on Marion Avenue near Sunnyridge Drive.

The tree fell a little before 5 p.m.

It is unclear if anyone was injured.

As of 7:25 p.m., Eversource was reporting on their online power outage map over 11,282 customers statewide, or less than 1 percent, were without power.  The most impacted areas were Stamford with 3,635 outages, New Cannan with 1,928 outages and Glastonbury with 869 outages.

Southington was reporting .01 percent of just over 20,000 customers without power. No other towns in the immediate area were reporting outages.
