SOUTHINGTON â€“ The ShopRite Nutmeg State Games and the Connecticut Mastersâ€™ Games will host their 25th Annual Directors Club Banquet next month at the Aqua Turf Club.
Two of Connecticutâ€™s major athletic leagues will come together on Thursday, Feb. 28, to celebrate this yearâ€™s competition and raise money for future events. This yearâ€™s Master of Ceremonies is comedian Kevin Flynn and the Keynote Speaker is Jim Calhoun, former University of Connecticut Menâ€™s Basketball coach and current University of Saint Joseph Menâ€™s Basketball coach.
According to organizers, more than 300 people from across the state are expected to attend this yearâ€™s banquet. Money raised during the annual celebration will go to fund this yearâ€™s series of competitions. Each summer, thousands of athletes of all ages and skill levels travel from all areas of Connecticut to participate in numerous team and individual competitive sport competitions in state games events.
Tickets are $250 per person or $2,500 for a table of 10. All proceeds from the evening will go to support the ShopRiteÂ® Nutmeg State Games and the Connecticut Mastersâ€™ Games.
