Break out your wallets. Girl Scout cookie season is upon us.

This month, around 2 million cookies will be trucked to the state. Girl Scouts will sell the cookies at cookie booths and deliver them to customers who have already ordered, said a press release from Girl Scouts of Connecticut.

Some of these cookie boxes may contain more than just sweet treats, however.

Five Golden Cookie Tickets will be hiding in five random cookie boxes throughout the state. The five customers who break open their cookie boxes to find these tickets will win a year’s supply of Girl Scout cookies.

That’s 12 cases, six cases delivered twice, in one year.

Ticket winners should contact or call 800-922-2770. Winners must present the ticket at a Girl Scouts of Connecticut office to receive the prize.

A box of cookies costs $5, except for Toffee-tastic and Girl Scout S’mores, which are $6 each.

Those cookie sales add up. Last year, Girl Scouts in the state earned $1.9 million in cookie sales.

Girl Scouts use those funds to give back and to achieve their goals.

“The Girl Scout Cookie Program is more than just the cookies: it’s about the entrepreneurship skills that Girl Scouts as young as the age of five gain through the program,” said Mary Barneby, CEO of Girl Scouts of Connecticut, in a press release.

“We are so grateful to all of our cookie supporters, for when you make a purchase, you are helping the next generation of girl entrepreneurs get an important taste of what it takes to be successful and fueling the next generation of the female leadership pipeline.”
