SOUTHINGTON - A Plantsville man was arrested by Southington police after an alleged physical altercation with a juvenile.

Michael Rosa, 46, was arrested Thursday and charged with risk of injury to a minor, third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an emergency call, according to a Southington police press release.

During the dispute, the juvenile called 911 and Rosa allegedly pushed the juvenile from behind and pulled the juvenile’s hair to get the phone away from the juvenile and prevent the call to 911, Southington police said.

The juvenile suffered soreness in a leg as a result of the dispute, police said. Rosa sustained a small laceration on his foot as a result of a bite from a dog during the incident.

Rosa was arraigned in Bristol Superior Court Friday and released from custody on a promise to appear at his next court date, which is scheduled for April 3.

The identity of the juvenile is not being released, Southington police said.
