Volunteers to clean up at Southington's YMCA Camp Sloper April 6

SOUTHINGTON - YMCA Camp Sloper will be hosting its annual Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 6.

The cleanup is set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the YMCA Camp Sloper Outdoor Center’s McLeod Pavilion, 1000 East St.

Volunteers will help prepare YMCA Camp Sloper’s Outdoor Center for the upcoming season.

Volunteers will provide work gloves and labor, while Camp Sloper will provide lunch.

Children under the age of 15 must be supervised by an adult.

People can also sign up to volunteer for additional work on April 13 from 8 a.m. to noon, May 4 from 8 a.m. to noon or May 18 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Also at Camp Sloper, Volunteer Recruitment Night is scheduled for Thursday, March 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the camp’s Nature Center.

YMCA Camp Sloper is looking to increase membership in its volunteer groups and possibly recruit additional committee members.

The event is open to Camp Sloper families, YMCA adult members and the community.
