SOUTHINGTON - The Southington Chamber of Commerce welcomed Kinsmen Brewing Co. to town Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting event to inaugurate the brewery’s new banquet hall, Clark Hall.

Greg Caucci, Kinsmen’s co-owner, said Kinsmen is about brotherhood and bringing people together.

“Thank you to everyone who came out to see the new space,” Caucci said. “Clark Hall is an extension of a vision we have for banquets, weddings and business meetings. We believe that this new room will be a great spot for people to hang out and enjoy. Let’s get together as a community and celebrate.”

The new room at Kinsmen features a spacious area equipped with a long bar, rustic-themed chairs, barrel tables, couches, a fireplace and a patio. There is a large wall where a stage can be set up for entertainment or a projection screen can be set up for business meeting presentations or wedding slideshows.

Caucci said the new hall took about eight months to construct.

“We’ve grown so much over the past two years,” said Caucci. “We’ve been so entrenched with the community, we knew wanted to partner with the Southington chamber. We wanted better networking opportunities and to reach out more to the local bloodline of the community.”

Dawn Miceli, chairman of the Southington Chamber of Commerce, said the second she stepped into Clark Hall, she was stunned.

“Look at this!” she said. “This place is beautiful. What a great way to showcase their new opportunity. They did a really great job with the space and we’re very happy for them. We really appreciate them as new members and friends. We’re thankful for their commitment to this community.”

For Town Councilor John Barry, his favorite part of Kinsmen and the new room is the diversity.

“I’ll come to Kinsmen at 2 o’clock on a weekend with my father, who’s in his 80s, and he loves it,” said Barry. “There’s such a unique diversity at Kinsmen. You have families, young couples, old couples all here in this space. Kinsmen is dedicated to providing good business and purpose.”

Caucci said that if the community wishes to check out the new space, there will be a free wedding exposition on Sunday, Sept. 22, from noon to 6 p.m. at the brewery, 409 Canal St., in Milldale.

“We will have about 20 to 30 vendors at the expo. There will be limos, music, photo booths, and special craft cocktails. It’s going to be a fun time,” said Caucci.
