New Britain has four more residents test positive for COVID-19, state death toll increases

New Britain had four new residents test positive for COVID-19, while Bristol had three more, according to the latest data released by state health officials Thursday.

New Britain’s new positive test results bring it to a total of 36 residents with coronavirus, the most in the area.

Bristol’s total positive tests increased to 18 overall.

Plainville added three residents to its list of positive COVID-19 patients, and has 10 in all. Southington added two new coronavirus patients and is now at 27 total.

Plymouth had one new resident test positive, the third to do so in town.

Newington (28) and Berlin (14) did not record a new positive test result.

Overall in the state, Stamford by far has the most, with 508 resident COVID-19 patients.

There were 27 additional reported deaths in Connecticut Thursday, a total that now stands at 112. In Hartford County, there have been 13 deaths, two more than yesterday’s total. One New Britain resident and one Newington resident have died as a result of coronavirus.

There are 3,824 state residents who have tested positive in all, with 539 coming from Hartford County.

18,300 have been tested for COVID-19 across the state.
