New Britain has over 40 confirmed coronavirus cases added to total; updates for Newington, Berlin, Southington, Plainville

After the state added 79 coronavirus cases Wednesday, they also reported an addition of 384 back cases, resulting in a big increase for New Britain, according to data released by state health officials.

There were two coronavirus-associated deaths reported, for a total of 4,425, but for the 12th straight day, there were none reported in our area.

New Britain had an increase 42 confirmed coronavirus cases and a decline of 10 probable cases, bringing the city’s totals to 1,172 confirmed and 54 probable. The confirmed cases are still eighth most in the state. The city still stands at 72 confirmed and 22 probable virus-associated deaths.

Bristol, however, had a decline of one confirmed coronavirus for the second straight day, bringing its totals to 626 confirmed and 19 probable. Bristol’s virus-associated death totals remained at 64 confirmed and nine probable.

Newington had no changes in its case totals, staying at 338 confirmed and 21 probable. The town’s virus-associated death totals also had no changes, remaining at 38 confirmed and 13 probable.

Southington had an increase of two confirmed cases. The town now has had 341 confirmed and 13 probable cases and 28 confirmed and five probable coronavirus-associated deaths.

Berlin had an additional confirmed coronavirus case to add to its totals of 172 confirmed and seven probable. The town’s virus-associated death totals remained at 14 confirmed and three probable.

Plainville and Plymouth had no changes to their totals.

Plainville remained at 178 confirmed and two probable coronavirus cases and 25 confirmed and one probable virus-associated deaths.

Plymouth stayed at 72 confirmed and five probable cases and one virus-associated death.

Statewide, there were 12,367 tests performed with 79 coming back as positive cases. There is now 53 patients currently hospitalized with coronavirus, a drop of one since Tuesday.
