New Britain has another increase in confirmed coronavirus cases, updates for Berlin, Newington, Southington, Plainville

For the 13th straight day, there were no coronavirus-associated deaths to report among our area cities and towns, but there were six more reported statewide Thursday, according to the latest data released by state health officials.

There have been 4,431 virus-associated deaths statewide, with Hartford County accounting for the most, with 1,092 confirmed and 319 probable deaths from coronavirus.

Following an increase of 42 confirmed coronavirus cases Wednesday, New Britain added another six Thursday, for totals of 1,178 confirmed and 53 probable. The probable cases represent a decrease of one. The city’s virus-associated deaths totals remained at 72 confirmed and 22 probable.

Bristol had an increase of one confirmed coronavirus case after two straight days of having a decline. The city did have a decline of one in probable cases, and now has had 627 confirmed and 18 probable in total. Bristol has had 64 confirmed virus-associated deaths and nine probable.

Newington also had an increase of one confirmed coronavirus cases while staying level in probable cases. The town has had 389 confirmed and 21 probable cases and 38 confirmed and 13 probable virus-associated deaths.

Southington, Plainville, Berlin and Plymouth all had no changes Thursday

Southington remained at 341 confirmed and 13 probable cases and 28 confirmed and five probable coronavirus-associated deaths.

Plainville has had 178 confirmed and two probable cases and 24 confirmed and one probable virus-associated deaths.

Berlin has had 172 confirmed and seven probable cases and 14 confirmed and three probable virus-associated deaths.

Plymouth has had 72 confirmed and five probable cases and one virus-associated confirmed death.

There were 12,958 total coronavirus tests reported statewide Thursday, with 130 coming back as positive cases. There was an increase in state hospitalizations, with an additional 13 patients being treated for coronavirus, for a total of 66.
