Just 22 new coronavirus cases reported statewide, one being from New Britain

There were just 22 new coronavirus cases reported statewide Wednesday and a decrease of 12 patients who were hospitalized with the virus, which are both more encouraging numbers for Connecticut. There were 7,977 tests reported overall and there are now 58 patients currently hospitalized with the virus, according to the latest data released by state health officials.

There were six deaths reported statewide, but none from the area. There was just one confirmed case among all of our area cities and towns.

New Britain did have an increase in confirmed cases, going up by one to 1,213. The 53 probable cases remained the same.

Bristol had no changes once again, staying level at 634 confirmed and 19 probable cases.

Newington also had no changes, remaining at 390 confirmed and 20 probable cases.

Southington still has had 349 confirmed and 13 probable cases.

Berlin remained at 178 confirmed and seven probable cases.

Plainville is at 178 confirmed and two probable cases.

Plymouth stayed at 72 confirmed and five probable cases.
