New Britain, Newington have two coronavirus-associated deaths, Southington one; area case numbers all up

There were 43 coronavirus-associated deaths statewide since Friday, with seven of those coming from the area, according to state health officials Monday. New Britain and Newington both had two residents confirmed, Bristol had one confirmed and considered probable and Southington had one confirmed virus-associated deaths over the weekend.

There have been 4,871 virus-associated deaths statewide since reporting began.

There were 109,045 covid tests reported over the weekend with 5,271 coming back as positive cases, a rate of 4.83%. There were also an additional 27 residents hospitalized in the state with coronavirus for a total of 875.

With two more confirmed coronavirus-associated deaths, New Britain is now up to 87 confirmed and 23 probable deaths among residents. The city also had an increase of 187 confirmed and eight more considered probable in residents testing positive for the virus. The city’s totals stand at 2,904 confirmed and 182 probable cases.

Bristol is now up to 74 confirmed and 10 probable in coronavirus-associated deaths. The city also had an increase of 102 confirmed and six probable in residents testing positive for the virus Monday. The city has had 1,487 confirmed and 82 probable cases overall.

Newington had its 53rd and 54th virus-associated deaths over the weekend to go along with 13 more considered probable deaths among its residents. The town was also up 41 confirmed and down two in probable virus cases, for totals that now stand at 850 confirmed and 45 probable.

Southington is up to 32 confirmed and five probable virus-associated deaths. The town also had 55 residents confirmed and nine more considered probable in testing positive for coronavirus. The town has had 874 confirmed and 79 probable cases.

Plainville had 29 additional residents confirmed and two more considered probable in testing positive for coronavirus over the weekend. The town is up to 411 confirmed and 29 probable cases overall.

Berlin had an additional 24 residents confirmed as testing positive for coronavirus for totals that stand at 4-5 confirmed and 32 probable.

Plymouth had 15 more residents confirmed and four considered probable in testing positive for the virus. The town is up to 199 confirmed and 22 probable cases.
