Bristol had one resident die from coronavirus-associated illness in the past day, according to state health officials Wednesday. There were 44 virus deaths statewide for a total of 6,726.
New Britain has had 161 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 119, Newington 90, Southington 67, Plainville 31, Berlin 26 and Plymouth five.
There were 30,461 covid tests reported Wednesday with 1,915 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 6.29%. There was a decrease of patients hospitalized with the virus over the past day, however, as the total dropped by 17 to 1,124.
Locally, New Britain was up to 7,115 coronavirus cases among residents, an increase of 54 over the past day.
Bristol has now had 3,919 coronavirus cases overall, an increase of 32 since Tuesday.
Southington had an increase of 21 coronavirus cases among residents for a total of 2,422.
Newington moved within 43 of reaching 2,000 coronavirus cases among residents after another 19 residents tested positive over the past day. The town has had 1,957 cases.
Berlin had four more coronavirus cases for a total of 1,098.
Plainville had five more residents that tested positive for the virus for a total of 1,038.
Plymouth had 10 additional residents that tested positive for coronavirus since Tuesday for a total of 612.
