SOUTHINGTON – A car crashed into the porch of a local home on Monday.

The accident occurred at 21 Hemlock Road, where a vehicle smashed through a railing after its motorist left the road and drove over the home’s front lawn in the afternoon hours.

By about 3 p.m., the vehicle had been removed from the porch of the home and towed away.

A nearby neighbor told The Bristol Press she believes the vehicle involved in the crash was stolen. She also said the suspect driving the car apparently failed to negotiate the curve on Hemlock before the crash.

According to the neighbor, the suspects fled the vehicle before being apprehended. She said they ended up on her lawn at one point.

Police on Monday did not immediately release information of the event and could not corroborate details provided by the neighbor.
