SOUTHINGTON - A Southington man has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.

Rickey Frotten, 37, struck a plea deal last week in New Britain Superior Court. He pleaded guilty during the hearing to one count of second-degree possession of child pornography.

The charge was reduced from that of the first-degree.

Frotten is free on $150,000 bond. He has not faced sentencing.

The 37-year-old is due back in court on April 12.

According to state police, Frotten was found with more than 50 images of child pornography after police searched his Southington home on March 28, 2019.

Frotten’s attorney, Timothy Moynahan, previously said state police used a search warrant to seize a hard drive and other materials from his client’s home.

Moynahan also previously said there’s no evidence that his client shared or disseminated any child pornography images.
