SOUTHINGTON – Southington’s boys swim and dive team topped Conard on Wednesday, improving to 4-0 with a 92-73 win.
Three relay teams picked up wins, with the 200 medley team (1:45.67), the 200 free team (1:39.67) and the 400 free team (3:36.77) all coming in first.
There were three two-event winners on Wednesday, with Peter Zalewski winning the 200 free (1:54.86) and the 100 free (52.09). Matt Niro won the 50 free (23.29) and the 100 back (57.87) and Landon Colby was the third two-timer with a win in the 100 fly (54.69) and the 100 breast (1:06.16).
Alex LeClair took a first-place time in the 500 free at 5:17.93 and Boden Tito also took a first-place time, clocking a 2:10.98 in the inter. medley.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Innovation 50, MLC 45: Innovation boys hoops defeated MLC on Wednesday night in a 50-45 score.
Innovation by five entering halftime and kept the difference even through the second half en route to the win.
Leading the Ravens was Amari Cruz with a game-high 20 points. Warlin Franco scored eight points.
Simsbury 24, Southington 22: Simsbury boys basketball defeated Southington Wednesday night, beating the Blue Knights 24-22.
Southington was held to seven points across the second half after leading 15-7 entering the half.
The Blue Knights were led in scoring by Luke Penna’s nine points.
New Britain 87, Bulkeley 32: New Britain boys basketball rolled past Bulkeley Wednesday night, winning 87-32.
The Hurricanes led by 20 through the first quarter and coasted its way to a win.
Leading in scoring for New Britain was Xavier Goode with 18 points, sinking four 3-pointers. Omarion Gadson had 16 points as the only other Hurricane on the scoresheet.
Twelve New Britain players scored a point in the win.
