NEW BRITAIN - The former Stanley Black & Decker building at 480 Myrtle St. is for sale.
Frank Amodio, owner of Amodio & Co. Real Estate, said buyers are being sought who can either use or develop the property.
The building has 138,986 square feet of corporate offices, a full cafeteria, three elevators, a modern atrium lobby, a sprinkler system throughout and ample parking on about 5 acres of adjacent parcels.
In August 2016, Stanley executives announced they would be vacating the five-story office building.
Two hundred employees were moved to a renovated office complex on the company’s world headquarters campus off Slater Road and an office building on West Street in Southington.
The city has appraised the property at $4,843,500, but the price of purchase is negotiable. The building is vacant and move-in ready.
According to city records, Hardware City Associates has owned the building, constructed in 1947, since April 2, 1990.
Amodio has set no time frame for the sale of the property.
