NEW BRITAIN - Access Care Pharmacy has relocated a few doors down from its original home at 248 Main St., to 200 Main St.
Owners Sri Alla and Surresh Kurra decided the pharmacy needed more space and visibility to better serve the city’s residents.
Alla and Kurra are also the owners of New Britain Pharmacy, which they opened in May 2013. New Britain Pharmacy is at 46 Broad St.
Lisa Christino, Access Care Pharmacy’s manager, has worked at the pharmacy since November 2017. Christino said she likes the new location.
“It’s better. People can see us here, too,” Christino said.
The space was the former office of Access Health Connecticut.
Alla said he likes the idea of helping people of all ages. He said health is a critical part of life, and his business partner, Kurra, is a pharmacist.
In addition, Alla said space played a big role in making the decision of moving because the previous location only had 1,200 square feet. The new location has 2,500 square feet.
The pharmacy was the first in the state to be granted a permit to distribute Narcan kits. Narcan reverses the effects of an opiod overdose.
Since customer service is a big part of of Access Health Pharmacy, the store offers free prescription delivery to any location in the state. it also prepares medications for seniors in a monthly supply and stores the medications in special dosage boxes.
