NEW BRITAIN - Grandview Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center provides a welcoming atmosphere for its patients in Central Connecticut. The center proudly offers round-the-clock care and meets the rehabilitation needs of a variety of patients.

The skilled staff at Grandview promises that “service excellence is our primary goal. We believe the most effective way to provide compassionate care is to maintain high medical integrity, build a team spirit among staff and provide friendly, clean surroundings for our patients and their visitors. Although most transitions are not easy, we strive to facilitate that process with an environment where our patients and guests feel informed and comfortable.”

The services provided by Grandview include short-stay rehab, long-term care, as well as memory care.

Grandview’s committed team “of qualified professionals helps patients recover from surgery, injury or serious illness. They understand the importance of creating a comfortable and nurturing atmosphere, whether our [their] patients are here for short-term treatment or long-term care.”

Grandview also has options for senior resources, offering both short-stay rehabilitation and long-term care for potential residents. “Medicare and a majority of health insurance plans will cover 100 percent of the cost of a short-stay rehab visit for the first 21 days,” according to a statement on Grandview’s website. “Patients that require longer inpatient rehabilitation beyond 21 days but can’t exceed 100 days, Medicare will pay 80 percent and your Medigap insurance will cover the 20 percent.”

For possible long-term care residents-those seeking nursing home care who can no longer live independently-Grandview says that these patients, “will usually pay our private pay rate until you or your loved one spends down to qualify for Title XIX Medicaid, a state entitlement program that funds the long-term stay of over 70 percent of Connecticut’s nursing home residents.”

Grandview adds that “contrary to popular belief if you or your spouse need long-term nursing home care your spouse does not need to live in poverty, Medicaid has special provisions to keep the spouse at home in the community.” To learn more, visit
