WEST HARTFORD - Police say no one was injured in a brief early morning standoff at a Connecticut home.

Police responded to the West Hartford home just after 4 a.m. Monday for reports of a man armed with a knife threatening to harm himself and others.

Neighbors were evacuated from their homes because the man at first refused to respond to officers.

He eventually came out and was taken into custody without incident. He was taken to a hospital for an evaluation. His name was not released.

Broadcasters on the scene say they saw investigators come out of the home with several weapons, including rifles and a crossbow, as well as ammunition, a tactical vest, and a gas mask.
