The company was founded by Paul Mangiafico when he decided to go for a career change. Mangiafico was a hairdresser before his involvement in the manufacturing field. The business started in Winsted as a magnet wire mill. The company became Peter Paul Coil Company and in 1965 it was named Peter Paul Electronics. By the 1970s, the facility in Puerto Rico had been built to support the manufacturing of coils.
According to the company website, the New Britain facility employs close to 150 people and there are about 40 employees at the facility in Puerto Rico. The company’s slogan is “Making Things Work Throughout the World,” representing global distribution.
