Martin Rosol's: 91 years of small batch, high quality meats

NEW BRITAIN- Martin Rosol’s has been serving gourmet meat products to families in Connecticut for more than 91 years. The company is now operating under the fourth-generation of the Rosol family.

The business has remained original, using all of the same recipes from its humble beginnings, “When products are this good, you don’t change them,” said Ted Rosol, general manager. His great-grandfather Martin Rosol, a Polish immigrant, started making the meat products in his converted garage in 1928 and opened the current facility at 45 Grove St. in 1937. Rosol’s currently employs 20 full-time employees, many who have been with the company for decades, “all of our employees are treated like family” Rosol said. The company produces kielbasa, frankfurters, sausages, deli meats, and a special meat sauce with only the highest quality standards. The meat products are made and then distributed to grocery stores, delis, restaurants, and hot dog stands throughout the state of Connecticut. Rosol’s has three trucks that deliver to their accounts daily.

In addition to finding their products in stores throughout the state, the public can go directly to Rosol’s retail store attached to their facility. Customers can purchase freshly made products here, “there are not many places where you can get products like this that were made that very same day” Rosol says. According to Rosol, this summer has been record-setting thus far, which he attributes to more people supporting small business and locally made products “I think more people are discovering that we are like a craft sausage company, making small batches of meats that are worth showing off on your grill” Rosol explains. Rosol’s has also begun making new products, such as Chorizo and Andouille, which have been well received by the community, according to Rosol. The company anticipates with these new products and the upcoming holidays such as the Fourth of July and Labor Day that they will only get busier. “We’re making more products than ever, we really appreciate the support from our loyal customers” Rosol said.
