BRISTOL - Your CBD Store, which had its grand opening Saturday, is one of the few stores that is completely dedicated to CBD products.
CBD stands for cannabidiol and can be used to treat a variety of conditions, from insomnia to arthritis.
“The main thing we’re trying to accomplish is to educate people about the product,” said Scott Zabka, owner of the Bristol and Southington locations. He also aims to help people find the perfect product for them.
Whether you’re looking for edibles, like gummies and honey sticks, beauty products, bath bombs, vape cartridges or water solubles, the store at 900 Farmington Ave. has it.
“So many people suffer from a lot of different ailments and are just looking for something to help them,” said Jeremy Morgan, manager of the Bristol store.
Mike Lauzier was the first customer of the day. He said he decided to stop by because his daughter suggested that he try CBD for his weak legs and back.
“A lot of people I know say it works very well for them,” he said.
“I think there’s a lot of people open to it,” said Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu.
The mayor and the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce welcomed the new business to Bristol.
“We love to see new retail on Route 6. We think that this is a new opportunity for people who want quality, holistic CBD,” Zoppo-Sassu said.
“I think you have great timing in terms of opening because Route 6 is now what it was before construction,” she added.
Zabka said he’s already seen from opening his Southington store that CBD is helping people.
“It’s really designed to do everything,” he said. “It’s going to make you healthier.”
What is CBD?
CBD works with the endocannabinoid in the body, said Sarah Wollman, general manager. It can treat aches and pains, as well as some other ailments, she said.
“All the other systems in your body it can kind of make connections with,” she said. “It helps with a lot of symptoms of other things as well.”
Wollman recommended topicals for those trying CBD for the first time.
“We have a topical that is really good for a localized area,” she said. Customers can also take it orally and feel its effect through their whole body.
Your CBD store also carries CBD for pets.
“All animals can use it,” Wollman said, including dogs, cats and horses. “All ages, all sizes.”
Animals have the same endocannabinoid in their bodies as humans, so the effects are similar.
CBD products are good for helping elderly pets, to calm down puppies or for animals that don’t like thunderstorms or fireworks, Wollman said.
Your CBD Store has over 500 locations across the U.S.
