HARTFORD - The state Judicial Branch is hosting an information session today to discuss its interest in securing residential beds and programming for court-involved juveniles, according to a press release from the branch.
“We have a legislative mandate to provide secure facilities for youths ages 14 to 18 who have been adjudicated as delinquent through the juvenile court system,” Gary A. Roberge, executive director of the Judicial Branch’s Court Support Services Division, said in the release. “Unfortunately, we received only one bid when we previously advertised for this service. We hope that the meeting ... will generate interest and also provide a forum to address any questions that potential providers may have.”
The session will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. in East Hartford at the Judicial Branch’s Learning Center, 99 E. River Drive, Room 707. The program will consist of Judicial Branch leaders from the Court Support Services and Administrative Services divisions
“By listening to the providers, we hope to foster creative solutions to meet this challenge,” Roberge added.
