NEW BRITAIN – Free weekly webinars for local nonprofits to discuss survival tactics during the COVID-19 pandemic are now being offered by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain.
“Overwhelmed nonprofit organizations are being tested both organizationally and in terms of meeting the needs of those they serve,” says Joeline Wruck, director of Community Initiatives at the Foundation,
“This webinar series will help them navigate this challenging time with relevant information and steps they can take to best weather the storm.”
The foundation is a nonprofit philanthropic organization that serves Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington.
Starting April 1, the webinars will be facilitated by Sharon Danoksy of Danosky and Associated for five weeks, every Wednesday in April. The sessions will last 45 minutes and are opening to an unlimited number of organizations. A 30-minute discussion will follow each webinar and will be limited to 20 participants on a first come, first serve basis from nonprofits in the four-town area. The sessions are funded by the foundation’s Capacity Building Initiative.
Webinar topics will relate to issues nonprofits are facing during the COVID-19 pandemic and include
“Business Continuity Plan – Manage Now; Re-emerge Later;” “When and How to Raise Funds During a Crisis and After;” “What Board Members Can and Should Do During a Crisis;” “Communications – Your Life Line to the Community;” and “Scenario Planning – Financial Planning in Uncertain Times.”
