BRISTOL – Wings Over Bristol has built up a loyal following over 12 years and those customers have continued to support it during the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, they strive to continue providing quality food and quality service while keeping both customers and employees safe.

Robert Kadrle, district manager of Wings Over locations in Connecticut, said they have a “great following” at the location at 728 Farmington Ave. in Bristol.

“We have had a lot of repeat business and customers that we know by name,” he said. “The Bristol store has continued to grow little by little. And like all of our other locations, we pride ourselves in cooking our food fresh to order.”

Kadrle said Wings Over Bristol is not fast food, but “fast casual” and all chicken is cooked to order, not pre-cooked.

“That way it is fresh, hot and juicy when you pick it up,” he said.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Kadrle said gloves became required to be worn at all times by employees. Additionally, they have been doing health checks and temperature checks. They have been making sure employees don’t have the symptoms and have not come into contact with those displaying symptoms.

Like many restaurants, Wings Over Bristol switched to curbside pickup.

“Our staff responded well,” Kadrle said. “People can call in their orders and we have a table set up outside that we set the food on. We say hello to our customers from a safe distance as they pick it up and go.”

As the state continues to open up, Kadrle said Wings Over Bristol will look into reopening its indoor dining area when it becomes available. He said all guidelines from state and health officials will be followed.

Wings Over Bristol is offering 10% off orders for first responders and front-line workers. They also, at one point, extended their “Tender Tuesday”, where people can pay $10 for a pound of chicken tenders, a $5 discount, to a week to show appreciation for their customers.

“We appreciate all of our loyal customers who have kept coming back to support us,” Kadrle said. “We have also picked up a lot of new customers. We strive to provide the best service and quality that we can. Thank you for supporting us at this time, which has been difficult for a lot of businesses.”

Wings Over Bristol has 28 flavors of wings and Kadrle said they are regularly adding new sauces to try.

“We recently added a honey hot sauce,” he said.
