AUBURN, Ala. - JB Grimes is returning for his second stint as Auburn’s offensive line coach.

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn announced Wednesday Grimes will replace Herb Hand, who left to become co-offensive coordinator at Texas.

Grimes coached at Auburn from 2013-15, helping the Tigers to the BCS championship game and a SEC title in his first season.

Grimes left to coach Cincinnati’s offensive line in 2016 and spent last season in the same post at UConn.

Grimes’ resignation from coach Randy Edsall’s UConn staff comes a week after former Chicago Bears assistant coach John Dunn was hired to be the team’s offensive coordinator.
