Hispanic Heritage Month lecture: Archaeology of Puerto Rico

A virtual public talk with L. Antonio Curet, a curator at the National Museum of the American Indian, part of the Smithsonian Institution. And will also feature State Representative Edwin Vargas, (D, Hartford) who has been a longtime educator in Hartford and has previously served as an official advisor to the Governor of Puerto Rico on issues affecting the US-based Puerto Rican community. This presentation includes an overview of the ancient history of Puerto Rico, a summary of the finds of the Archaeological Project of the Ceremonial Center of Tibes, and a new perspective in understanding the processes involved in the ancient history of the site.
