Francis S. Johnson, age 71, of New Britain entered into eternal rest Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012. He was the son of the late Joseph and Doris (Hall) Becker.

He was born in New Britain and had been a lifelong resident. He was educated in local schools and was employed as a Material Handler for Corbin and Russwin for several years. He was a member of the McCullough Temple CME Church and also a member of the Pride of Conn. Lodge Elks Lodge No. 1437 of New Britain.

He is survived by his wife, Shirlene (Mills) Johnson of New Britain; a stepson, Kenneth and Pearl Drake of New Britain; two stepdaughters, Tamara Mifflin and Nicole Drake, both of New Britain; two sisters, Muriel Johnson of Texas and Marie Johnson of New Britain; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Carol Johnson and brother, Thomas Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the McCullough Temple CME Church, 55 Chapman St., New Britain. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
