Berlin wrestling shows strides in road loss
Berlin fell to Platt on the road, 49-24, on Wednesday night, but continued to show great strides in the process.
Ethan Greider improved to 15-7 on the year with a win, pinning Alex Tixi in 1:50. He moved down in weight to 115 pounds about three weeks ago and has won every match but one since.
"He’s come around," Berlin coach Jim Day said. "He feels more comfortable."
Kevin Perruccio moved to 15-5 on the night, following his success over the weekend at the Eagle Classic at East Catholic where he finished top his weight class.
Perhaps Berlin’s best performance, acccording to Day, was put in by Rich Schlichting who won by pinning his man in the 134-pound class.
"Rich wrestled very tough tonight," Day said. "He was relentless, which was the only way he could secure the pin. His tempo was excellent."
Berlin hopes to set the tempo Saturday at the Mass-Conn Fusion tournament in Southington.
