New Britain has two coronavirus-associated deaths, nearly 70 new virus cases; state goes over 8,000 deaths

New Britain had two reported coronavirus-associated deaths reported over the weekend, according to state health officials Monday. The city has had 204 virus associated deaths overall. The state overall went over the 8,000 mark in virus deaths with 19 more reported over the weekend for a total of 8,014.

New Britain has had 204 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 133, Newington 100, Southington 94, Plainville 37, Berlin 30 and Plymouth 9 since reporting began.

There were 101,952 coronavirus tests reported since Friday with 2,736 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 2.68%. There was an increase of eight in state residents hospitalized with the virus for a total of 494.

New Britain had 67 new coronavirus cases reported Monday and has had an overall total of 9,130.

Bristol added 67 new coronavirus cases since Friday and has had an overall total of 5,706.

Southington had 29 new virus cases over the weekend and has had 3,526 cases overall.

Newington had an additional 10 cases reported since Friday and has an overall total of 2,649.

Berlin had six new virus cases over the weekend and has an overall total of 1,515.

Plainville had 10 new virus cases reported since Friday and has an overall total of 1,494.

Plymouth added eight new coronavirus case over the weekend and has an overall total of 907.
