BERLIN – Berlin High School’s graduation ceremony will be held Friday at Sage Park.

“It has not been held in Sage Park for quite a while, but this allows us to have an outdoor ceremony where we are able to accommodate more family members,” said Eileen Eustis, Berlin High principal.

Each graduate was allowed up to five tickets for the 5 p.m. ceremony.

“We’re very excited and fortunate that we were able to accommodate something like that given the restrictions with the pandemic,” Eustis said.

The 245 graduates will report directly to the Auxiliary Field, which is right next to the larger field.

“We will line them up in alphabetical order with the exception of class officers and other class leaders who will be at the front of the line,” Eustis said.

Berlin’s superintendent, valedictorian, salutatorian and class president will be among some of the speakers at the ceremony.

“We had graduation rehearsal this morning; the students are actually very excited,” Eustis said. “We’re feeling very grateful, very happy. The community has been incredibly supportive and I think everyone is really looking forward to a beautiful evening and just a wonderful celebration for the class.”

The graduates can also look forward to the traditional Berlin High School Yearbook Assembly/Senior Breakfast put on by the freshman class officers all day prior to the ceremony. The senior class will get their yearbooks, have an assembly, and eat breakfast at school, giving them an opportunity to sign yearbooks.

The graduates can also look forward to ending their night at the traditional All Night Grad Party organized by the parent committee following the ceremony.
