Just five are in 'Yellow Alert' status for coronavirus cases in state, none from area; plus coronavirus case number updates

Only Waterbury, Hartford, Bolton, Salem and Brooklyn are in “Yellow Alert” status for coronavirus, the highest rated among the state’s cities and towns, according to state health officials.

There were no coronavirus-associated deaths reported in the area Thursday, but there was three reported statewide for an overall total of 8,260.

New Britain has had 215 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 136, Newington 100, Southington 97, Plainville 38, Berlin 31 and Plymouth 11 since reporting began.

There were 13,090 coronavirus tests reported Thursday with 57 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 0.44%. There was a decrease of five in residents hospitalized with coronavirus for an overall total of 71. There are 30 covid patients currently in Hartford County hospitals, one more than Wednesday.

New Britain had a decrease of three coronavirus case reported over the past day and has had an overall total of 9,684.

Bristol had an increase of two in coronavirus cases since Wednesday and has had an overall total of 6,011.

Southington had a decrease of two virus cases over the past day and has had 3,709 cases overall.

Newington had one new virus cases since Wednesday and has an overall total of 2,713.

Berlin had zero new virus case over the past day and has an overall total of 1,582.

Plainville had no change in virus cases since Wednesday and has an overall total of 1,594.

Plymouth had zero new virus cases over the past day and has an overall total of 959.
