PLAINVILLE – Doors are open at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Plainville and those who hope to have a change of scenery are encouraged to make a booking.
“Our facilities are up and running while still using precautions,” said Lisbell Rivera, Fairfield’s director of sales. “The rooms are all sanitized before and after every guest, and all the amenities are sanitized before and after use. The guest’s safety is also our safety so we’re doing everything we can to keep things safe.”
The Plainville Fairfield Inn & Suites is located off of I-84, and is situated near Lake Compounce, and is in close proximity to corporations such as General Electric, Stanley Back & Decker, United Technologies, ESPN, Hartford Healthcare Medical Group and others. It is near the West Farms Mall and minutes away from Downtown Hartford.
While business bookings have not seen a significant increase, Rivera said they are seeing more schools and colleges getting together and calling to reserve rooms for their upcoming sports games. There are also more people calling in to schedule a “get-a-way” or mini-vacations after a whole year of not traveling.
“We are here for our customers,” she said. “We are following all the safety guidelines and we haven’t raised our prices. We’re just doing what we can for them and make them feel welcomed.”
Currently, most of the hotel’s amenities are back in operation, including the pool, fitness center, business center and a 25-person meeting room. They are not serving hot breakfasts right now, but grab-and-go breakfast bags are available every morning. The bags usually include individual bagels, cereal bars, orange or apple juice, and a piece of fruit.
Kevin Gosling, Fairfield’s general manager, said one of the exciting new venues that people can look forward to is the grand opening of Craft Kitchen’s second location that is now on the hotel’s property.
The Southington based restaurant is owned by Mike Truss, who is also the restaurant’s chef and believes in locally sourced ingredients for quality dishes. Through Craft Kitchen, he replicates classics of lunch, pizza, dinner and catering that is inspired by Italian and southern flavors.
“People are loving it, especially since it’s right on hotel property,” said Gosling. “People are always there eating and they wait in the car for over an hour just to be able to eat there. It’s been really exciting and we can’t wait for more people to come and try the food.”
The hotel is located at 400 New Britain Ave. in Plainville. Call 860-747-1188 or log onto www.marriott.com to make reservations.
