Bonita Irene (Beyers) Schulz, 77, of Middletown, wife of the late Lester Bernard Schulz, died Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Portland Care and Rehab Center. She was born in New Britain, Conn., daughter of Francis and Helen (Gut) Beyers. She attended Woodrow Wilson High School and retired to Simpsonville, S.C., where she and Lester lived for 17 years. Bonita is survived by her children, Persis "Pam" Zimmerman, of Ivoryton, Conn.; Scott Morehouse of Weymouth, Mass.; Wesley Schulz and partner Jennifer Sussman of Wolcott, Conn.; Kristine (Schulz) Mangan and husband Scott Mangan of Newington, Conn.; and her sisters, Henriette (Beyers) Boyle and husband Robert Boyle of Ocala, Fla.; and Holly (Beyers) Ellis and husband Jim Ellis of Ormond Beach, Fla. She was proud of her ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family thanks all the caregivers from Middlesex Health, Luther Ridge and Portland Care and Rehab Center for their assistance and support. The family will be holding a private graveside service.
