New Britain has over 20 new coronavirus cases, Southington 11; plus state updates

The state has now reached 8,027 coronavirus-associated deaths after another seven were reported over the past day, according to state health officials Wednesday. None, however, were from area cities or towns.

New Britain has had 204 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 133, Newington 100, Southington 94, Plainville 37, Berlin 30 and Plymouth 9 since reporting began.

There were 30,454 coronavirus tests reported Wednesday with 856 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 2.81%. There was no change in state residents hospitalized with the virus, remaining at a total of 507. There are 105 patients in Hartford County hospitals.

New Britain had 22 new coronavirus cases reported Wednesday and has had an overall total of 9,179.

Bristol added 17 new coronavirus cases since Tuesday and has had an overall total of 5,730.

Southington had 11 new virus cases over the past day and has had 3,541 cases overall.

Newington had an additional two cases reported since Tuesday and has an overall total of 2,652.

Berlin had no change over the past day and has an overall total of 1,520.

Plainville had two new virus cases reported since Tuesday and has an overall total of 1,499.

Plymouth added one new coronavirus case over the past day and has an overall total of 909.
