New Britain reaches 206 coronavirus-associated deaths, nearly 9,300 overall cases; plus area case updates

New Britain has reached 206 coronavirus-associated deaths among residents after reporting one Friday and a second over the weekend, according to state health officials. There was just one virus deaths reported statewide Tuesday, adding to a total that has reached 8,067.

New Britain has had 206 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 133, Newington 100, Southington 94, Plainville 37, Berlin 31 and Plymouth 9 since reporting began.

There were 12,551 coronavirus tests reported Tuesday with 407 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 3.24%. There was an increase of eight over the past day in state residents hospitalized with the virus for a total of 444. There are 96 residents currently in Hartford County hospitals.

New Britain had 61 new coronavirus cases reported since the weekend and has had an overall total of 9,281.

Bristol added 43 new coronavirus cases since Friday and has had an overall total of 5,805.

Southington had 27 new virus cases since the weekend and has had 3,595 cases overall.

Newington had an additional six cases reported since Friday and has an overall total of 2,661.

Berlin had 13 more cases since the weekend and has an overall total of 1,538.

Plainville had 17 new virus cases reported since Friday and has an overall total of 1,525.

Plymouth added eight new coronavirus case since the weekend and has an overall total of 921.
