New Britain has two residents die from coronavirus-associated illness, has over 40 new cases; plus area updates

New Britain had two residents die from coronavirus-associated illness while Plymouth had one, according to state health officials Wednesday. New Britain has now had 208 virus deaths and Plymouth 10. There were 13 virus deaths reported statewide over the past day for an overall total of 8,080.

New Britain has had 208 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 133, Newington 100, Southington 94, Plainville 37, Berlin 31 and Plymouth 10 since reporting began.

There were 27,106 coronavirus tests reported Wednesday with 621 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 2.29%. There was a decrease of 37 state residents hospitalized over the past day with the virus for a total of 407. There are 83 residents currently in Hartford County hospitals, a decrease of 13.

New Britain had 41 new coronavirus cases reported over the past day and has had an overall total of 9,322.

Bristol added 16 new coronavirus cases since Tuesday and has had an overall total of 5,821.

Southington had 10 new virus cases over the past day and has had 3,605 cases overall.

Newington had an additional three cases reported since Tuesday and has an overall total of 2,664.

Berlin had two more cases over the past day and has an overall total of 1,540.

Plainville had six new virus cases reported since Tuesday and has an overall total of 1,531.

Plymouth added nine new coronavirus case over the past day and has an overall total of 930.
