New Britain has over 20 new coronavirus cases, plus area case updates; state drops below 400 in hospitalizations

The state reported 13 coronavirus-associated deaths Friday, but none from the local area, while residents hospitalized due to covid-19 has dipped below 400. There have been 8,097 virus deaths statewide overall.

New Britain has had 208 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 133, Newington 100, Southington 94, Plainville 37, Berlin 31 and Plymouth 10 since reporting began.

There were 38,830 coronavirus tests reported Friday with 786 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 2.02%. There was a decrease of 20 state residents hospitalized over the past day with the virus for a total of 383. There are 88 residents in Harford County hospitals with the coronavirus.

New Britain had 23 new coronavirus cases reported over the past day and has had an overall total of 9,362.

Bristol added 18 new coronavirus cases reported Friday and has had an overall total of 5,844.

Southington had nine new virus cases over the past day and has had 3,619 cases overall.

Newington had an additional three cases reported since Thursday and has an overall total of 2,668.

Berlin had four more cases over the past day and has an overall total of 1,547.

Plainville had two new virus cases reported since Thursday and has an overall total of 1,536.

Plymouth added two new coronavirus case over the past day and has an overall total of 938.
