Coronavirus case updates for New Britain, Berlin, Newington, Southington, Plainville

There were five coronavirus-associated deaths reported statewide, but none from the area, according to state health officials Tuesday. The state has lost 8,117 residents to virus-associated illness overall.

New Britain has had 209 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 135, Newington 100, Southington 94, Plainville 37, Berlin 31 and Plymouth 10 since reporting began.

There were 13,833 coronavirus tests reported Tuesday with 417 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 3.01%. There was an increase of one in state residents hospitalized over the past day with the virus for a total of 343. There are 87 residents hospitalized in Hartford County hospitals.

New Britain had 21 new coronavirus cases reported over the past day and has had an overall total of 9,438.

Bristol added eight new coronavirus cases reported Tuesday and has had an overall total of 5,877.

Southington had five new virus cases over the past day and has had 3,630 cases overall.

Newington had an additional two cases reported since Monday and has an overall total of 2,677.

Berlin had three more cases over the past day and has an overall total of 1,555.

Plainville had four new virus cases reported since Monday and has an overall total of 1,547.

Plymouth had no change and has an overall total of 940.
