New Britain has over 50 new coronavirus cases; Berlin, Newington, Plainville, Southington covid updates

After four straight reports of no area coronavirus-associated deaths, Bristol had a resident die from the virus over the weekend. There were 17 virus deaths reported statewide for an overall total of 8,154.

New Britain has had 209 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 136, Newington 100, Southington 94, Plainville 37, Berlin 31 and Plymouth 10 since reporting began.

There were 58,524 coronavirus tests reported since Friday with 827 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 1.41%. There was a decrease of 29 residents hospitalized with coronavirus for an overall total of 280.

New Britain had 53 new coronavirus cases reported over the weekend and has had an overall total of 9,536.

Bristol added 19 new coronavirus cases since Friday and has had an overall total of 5,924.

Southington had 12 new virus cases over the weekend and has had 3,666 cases overall.

Newington had an additional four cases reported since Friday and has an overall total of 2,694.

Berlin had five additional cases reported over the weekend and has an overall total of 1,566.

Plainville had four new cases since Friday and has an overall total of 1,562.

Plymouth had an increase of two cases over the weekend and has an overall total of 949.
