New Britain and Plymouth remain in â€śRed Alertâ€ť status when it comes to coronavirus cases, while Bristol, Southington and Plainville all dropped one level to â€śorange,â€ť according to state health officials Thursday. Berlin and Newington had no change this week, remaining at â€śorangeâ€ť and â€śyellow,â€ť respectively.
Southington had a resident die from coronavirus-associated illness, according to state health officials Thursday. There were a total of seven virus deaths reported statewide for an overall total of 8,168.
New Britain has had 210 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 136, Newington 100, Southington 95, Plainville 38, Berlin 31 and Plymouth 10 since reporting began.
There were 29,973 coronavirus tests reported Thursday with 471 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 1.57%. There was a decrease of 21 residents hospitalized with coronavirus for an overall total of 222.
New Britain had 15 new coronavirus cases reported over the past day and has had an overall total of 9,563.
Bristol added nine new coronavirus cases since Wednesday and has had an overall total of 5,940.
Southington had two new virus cases over the past day and has had 3,675 cases overall.
Newington had three additional cases reported since Wednesday and has an overall total of 2,699.
Berlin had no case reported over the past day and has an overall total of 1,567.
Plainville had one new case since Wednesday and has an overall total of 1,566.
Plymouth had an increase of one case over the past day and has an overall total of 951.
